How the monitor works

Each news item is harvested from the 15 DEB member faculty news websites. For each item, the full article body is fetched, and the text is mapped against the descriptions of the five DEB Impact Agenda themes using semantic mapping. Only items with a mapping score of at least 4.0/10 receive a DEB theme label. The news items are filtered for research, education, engagement and impact. Next to the DEB thematic items, each school has more generic news items. These generic items are also collected and counted and can be selected for listing. The donut shows the theme distribution for the items currently in view. Select a faculty or theme to refocus the listing of items.
